Our second DBA Event was held on July 26th, with a 2nd Century BC Mediterranean theme. To add some spice, Xyston had generously provided a 15mm Thessalian DBA Army as a prize.
As a further incentive to do well, one of Simon Bargery's "Confused General" figures would be presented to any player scoring zero tournament points.
Despite at least half the armies used being Roman of some form, the eventual winner was Adrian Webb using a Ptolemaic army. The following photos show a series of moments in the final, from initial coming together of the battle lines, to the final victory. (For all photos on this page, click on the image for the full size version).
The following photos show a delighted Adrian receiving the trophy and the Xyston DBA army from Simon Bargery (who had arranged Xyston's sponsorship), followed by Adrian presenting a somewhat less delighted Simon with his own Confused General, after his Libyans had lost all three games in the group stage, plus an extra game against a new player who turned up for the first time (we do believe you Simon, when you say that you threw that last one to encourage him, honest).
We must send a big THANK YOU to Xyston for providing the prize for this DBA Event.
Xyston can be found on the web at www.xyston.com
